Works in Progress
Nonprofit annual report
I’m working on an annual report for a cool nonprofit organization that does direct action for climate among other things! I think I can’t share much before the report is officially released, but here is a snippet of moodboard:
Album: Emotions Archive
I’ve written another song! And I’m slowly inching closer to having more songs ready for performing/recording. I was also supposed to play my first open mic but it got rained out—will be rescheduled for July!
Finished Work
Temporary tattoo designs
Sunrise NYC had a GOTV party for the midterm primaries and I doodled some little temporary tattoo designs for it! Was fun figuring out how to print on temporary tattoo paper!

ParentMap Website
I technically finished my part for this project back in January (design details/application), but this site has finally finished being programmed and is now live!
Film Photography
This month I got a film camera! A Kodak Ektar H35. I’m really enjoying the constraint of it being a point and shoot, especially since it’s super portable. The photos are finished in the sense that I got some film developed, but also ongoing in the sense that I have more rolls of film and will continue taking more photos. Can’t wait to see how the next batch turns out!

What’s Feeding my Brain
Watching
Mon Taxi, Meriem Sakrouhi
My friend Meriem premiered her short film at Tribeca Film Festival! It was a sweet and sad love letter to her late father and I cried almost immediately.
Love New York, Anthony DiMieri
I went to a talk that Anthony did last month and when he mentioned that he’d made this film, I had to check it out. If you know Subway Takes and Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral campaign videos, then you know his work is super cool and you’d want to check out this film too! It’s funny and heartfelt and a series of love letters that make up a larger love letter to the city.
Backrooms, Kane Parsons
Really enjoyed this, and glad I didn’t need the context of the director’s Youtube channel to do so. I like a horror movie that isn’t overly reliant on jump scares.
Reading
The Double, Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Still working my way through this one! Not a huge reading month for me.
Listening
“Run Rabbit,” Mollie Elizabeth
I found this one because the YouTube algorithm served me the visualizer/MV. It’s a fun one with a upbeat, whimsical sound and darker contents/lyrics. Love a lil chromatic scale! Have been boppin’!
“Night at the Opera,” Emei
Absolutely obsessed with this high energy rock-opera song. Some songs simply command your body to move and feel right out the gate.
you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia’s full album came out and I’ve had it on repeat! Really enjoying the full narrative arc of listening to this album in order.
Field trip!
Extra extra!
I’ve managed to an item on my NYC bucket list by going to shoot as an extra on not one but two movies. I got to go on set for a Netflix production as a soccer fan in the stands for The 99ers, and I also got to be a bar patron/audience member in a friend’s short film! Unclear if I’ll make the final cut for the Netflix movie but I’ll almost definitely be visible in my friend’s project.
Porch Stomp
I’ve been meaning to check out this folk festival in governor’s island for a long time, especially since it’s free! Managed to write a new song there!
Typographics
Another year of volunteering at the Typographics conference! Saw a great roundup of talks, including one by a paper engineer, Kelli Anderson whose incredible book I bought. Other great talks included Berton Hasebe discussing his iterative explorations of Times-based typeface design and Emily Oberman sharing her experience designing logos and opening title sequences for SNL.
Above: Coolest coffee table book ever, Alphabet in Motion
Gowanus Dredgers Cyanotype Workshop
Danielle Urban and I attended a really unique cyanotype workshop with Gowanus Dredgers! We canoed to a little inlet along the Gowanus canal, picked up some trash, and used it to create our prints.
Coming up
I didn’t anticipate how much canvassing I would be doing in June, nor did I expect to throw off my routine by going to film as an extra in things! Hoping July falls a little more into routine. I’m expecting to make some new blocks for block printing at the turtle race, and will hopefully make more progress on my font and album.
Tuna Tax
Thank you for reading! As always, my cat as reward.
